Mountain climbing in Africa
Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in African and the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Mawenzi and Shira are extinct but Kibo, the highest peak, is dormant and could erupt again. The most recent activity was about 200 years ago.
Climbing to 5,199 meters, Mount Kenya is the second tallest mountain in Africa. The scenery surrounding this designated World Heritage Site is breath-taking.
